Every time I travel from MD to VT its always a different route.
If I travel thru PA starting 270 n its great even though it does add a few hours 10-12 Hr. Drive but then I hit PA and it can add 2-4 hours of dead stop Traffic !!!! Last year I hit PA and traffic and my trip from VT - MD was over 15 hours

So I started going 270 S into NJ and onto the the turnpike but driving thru NY is CRAZY no matter what time of day. 95 has traffic and it takes about 8-10 hrs. And tolls get expensive.

SO my question is ... does anyone have easy directions from Gaithersburg MD to Stowe VT that avoids the drive thru NJ/NY and most of the tolls ?
Or a drive thru PA avoiding
the major traffic without over extending the time ?

Any help would be great !!

I have drove directions with Google, Yahoo, Mapquest, and Tom Tom ALL GOT ME VERY LOST !!!
Rand McNally directions are the most acurate but I cannot seem to fix my own route it only gives 2 options Long Way thru PA or short way thru NY

HELP PLEASE !!!!

It's a good thing I saw this, I'm an "expert" in this kind of thing!

From Gaithersburg: Take I-270 to Frederick. When you hit Frederick, take US-15. That will take you to I-81 near Harrisburg, PA. Drive on I-81 all the way to Binghamton, NY. When you hit Binghamton, take I-88 to Albany. To avoid the NY Thruway (I-90) tolls take the exit to US-20 in Duanesburg. From there, you should know the rest of the way. If not, drive on US-20 till you see I-87. Not long at all. The I-87 is free from that point on to Vermont.

100% toll-free. It's around 600 miles and 11 hours. Not too much traffic either, unless circumstances exist.
