Reliability of Ride-On in Takoma Park/Silver Spring (live, buses)

My husband and I are moving to Takoma Park, MD later this summer. I will be working near Dupont Circle so plan to take the Red Line to work, but I'll have to take Ride-On to get to the station.

From what I can tell, there's no real-time Ride-On tracking (a la the Metrobus "Next Bus" feature), so I have to go by the posted bus schedules. It looks like the interval between buses is about 20 minutes, which is not a problem as long as I don't miss the bus I need!

So my question is: How reliable are the posted schedules? Do Ride-On buses sometimes just not come? (This happens in Chicago, where we currently live, and it sucks.)

(Note that I can ride my bike to the station if the weather is nice, and I'll probably do that a fair amount. But there will be days when it will be too hot, too cold, too wet, or too icy for that, and I'll need the bus.)

I've found them to be pretty reliable, but buses do come early or late on occasion

Which route are you using? The buses I use to get to the Metro usually run every 12 minutes during rush hour.

I'm assuming you know this, but there are multiple Ride On bus routes in Takoma Park that run to the Metro station. That should help with bus reliability too.
