Hi. A friend and I were flown to DC for work and were supposed to be flying out of the country after two days, however, the trip has been delayed for a week so we have been exploring the DC area. We really want to go to Annapolis for a night but don't know the best way to go about getting there.

We aren't going to rent a car to drive one hour, to a city where we don't need a car. I have read that maybe taking the metro to New Carrollton and then taking a cab but I have no idea what the distance relation of that station is to annapolis and whether or not that is just a ridiculous idea.

Or what about having a town car take us there? I know they do airport transfers. Is that just really ridiculous?

Bus is out b/c we would be coming back on Saturday around lunch and heard that the bus doesn't run on weekends.

When we landed in Reagan the taxi fliers they passed out said that a taxi ride to Annapolis would be about $80. Would this end up being cheaper than the other options (we'd be splitting the cost by 2 so it'd be $80 each round trip).

Anyone with some insight would be great. We aren't necessarily looking for the cheapest option, rather the most cost effective and convenient method. Obviously the more money we save on transit, the more money we have to play with in Annapolis.

Your cheapest option is to rent a car. Check rates on kayak.com. It will be cheaper than $160.

If you want to go somewhere by public transportation, take the train to Baltimore. They run on Saturday.
