I'm looking at a job in Rockville, MD, right off of the Montrose Rd exit and I currently live off 340 about 10 minutes from Frederick. I have the option of a 9 hour day (technically 9.5 with an unpaid lunch) and I need to come up with a decent schedule. I've done this commute before, and I got to Frederick by 5:30am which got me to Rockville by about 6:30am. This time around, I just don't know if I can bare getting up at 4:30am in order to get to work on time, so I'm strongly considering starting work around 8:15-8:30am and working until 5:30-5:45pm. Does anyone know what time I'd need to be leaving Frederick to get to Rockville by 8:15? Is it worth it or am I just asking for even more of a rush hour headache?

The problem with waiting until later to leave in the morning and depart in the afternoon is that it adds time to your commute. This, as traffic builds as the morning and evening rush hours get into full swing. Sure, awaking at 4:30 a.m. to get an early start is drag, but it's probably your best bet in terms of beating what would be a really long commute time otherwise.
