There is a meeting tonight to discuss the future of PG county metro stations development. Some of the biggest projects include:

New Carrollton Metro Station

"The New Carrollton station area is envisioned as an exciting and livable transit oriented community with a mix of offices, stores, residences and hotel rooms in a location with unparalleled transportation access to the National Capital region. The Prince George’s County Transit District Overlay Zoning Map Amendment for New Carrollton (the “TDDP/TDOZ”). The TDDP calls for the transformation of the area to include up to 3,000 housing units; 2,600,000 square feet of office/commercial space; an extensive system of open spaces; an efficient street network that feels welcome to pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicular traffic alike; and a Metro station rebuilt as a grand urban transportation center."

Greenbelt Metro Station

"Greenbelt Station is a 240 acre development that offers new and exciting entertainment, retail, office, and residential uses with a combined Metro and MARC Rail Station at the heart of the upscale, mixed-use, multi-model, transit oriented community. This long anticipated gateway project within Prince George’s County will consist of 2,200 residential units, 1.2 Million square feet of office, 1.1 Million square feet of retail and entertainment, 300 hotel rooms, and a 115,000 square foot neighborhood retail center that includes recreational uses and open spaces. Greenbelt Station will include a variety of residential homes, including town homes, apartments and condominiums; all with innovative designs and architectural features. It is envisioned that Greenbelt Station will be a premier destination point within Prince George’s County, while, at the same time, being a self-contained community where one can live, work, shop and play."

I found out about the PG meeting tonight on Greater Greater Washington which is a blog website with a ton of daily info. around the region. I found out about the transit oriented development by various articles written about it as well as the PG council talking about it the past couple months.

RED FLAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GGW is controlled mostly by Prince Georges County/Maryland Haters that will find any and every excuse to write bad commentary opinions about the National Harbor, Westphilia, Woodmore, Konterra, and other Major Development projects in PG County but yet they don't criticize the Major Developing areas of Northern Virginia(that is not served by Rail Transit).......

If it is the same organization that were talking the same BS("Smart Growth Transit Oriented Development") back in the mid-1990's it will not be built as they proclaim to market/advertise..........

One has to wonder why in the H--- are they not talking about this same TOD crap down in Virginia(Spare Arlington, Alexandria, and Tysons Corner) and they are still developing and promoting highway construction in areas not accessible by rapid transit trains..........
