We will be relocating to the DC area, and we are considering moving to northern Calvert County. We have a child in the Gifted program in the elementary school in the state where we currently live, and we are interested in learning more about the Gifted program for Calvert County public schools.

For instance:

Is the program well structured? Well funded? Well administered?

If you have first-hand experience or knowledge of the program, has it met the needs of the gifted student?

Our gifted child also has ADHD. Does the Gifted program accommodate and serve children with learning differences?

Any other insights you could provide would be very appreciated.

Thank you.

Calvert has had past issues with ADD/HD which ended up in court where the school system lost. They seem to be doing better. The special programs for accelerated kids are pretty good.
