My husband and I are taking jobs in the Alexandria/Arlington area and are looking for a place to live. I'd like to keep my commute to an hour or less, and live in an area with a good school system. What cities/towns would be good options?

Right now we live in Southern MD, but the commute is terrible.

Most of the city of Arlington is a good look with great schools. Arlington is just so expensive though.

If you want more bang for your buck, come to route 1 / Alexandria / Fairfax County.

Affordable living and decent schools. North Potomac & Mount Vernon high school districts

Yeah I'd recommend the same. Another idea is Fort Washington if you just have a particular desire to remain in Maryland.
