First day out on my own. The traffic around town (Bethesda) is BAD. Why don't they get a government grant and synchronize some of the traffic lights on the major roads- stop and go- let's do something for energy conservation!!?? Parked my car on a side street, came back to a parking ticket and a warning (yes, welcome to Maryland - I had out of state plates). The ticket was for parking within five feet of a driveway! What's up with that? On top of that, it was SUNDAY!! Don't those meter people get a day off? The warning was not leaving four feet between the car parked behind me?? I hate to be impolite when I am visiting another state (plus $60 seems a little expensive for a parking ticket). I looked but didn't see any threads on traffic laws so, let's have some fun and let other people know some of our "favorite" Maryland traffic laws. Hopefully I won't be adding to the list!

That sucks man. MoCo is notorious for being the Third Reich of parking enforcement. You could try and contest it if you think it's worth your time.

Here's one tip: there's an 11MPH buffer between posted speed limits and the speed at which a speed camera will fire. So if it's a 30MPH zone, you can go 41MPH no problem, once you hit 42MPH then you'll trigger the camera.
