I've noticed much better fuel economy when I put 100% gas in my car, vs. the 10% ethanol blend which seems ubiquitous these days.

Do any stations around northern Montgomery County still sell 100% gas? How about the Clarksburg Liberty off Clarksburg Rd? I can't find any signs there which say "contains 10% ethanol".

Can anyone offer any insight?

Thanks!

Here's your site: Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

Hyattsville is the closest option

Thanks. I saw that site, but it didn't seem like a conclusive list. I'm hoping someone might have some more local insight.

the subject of obtaining non-ethanol-containing gas was brought up on another forum, and i was assured that if there is no sticker advertising the presence of ethanol, then the gas doesn't contain any.

if that's true, then these 'real gas' websites are missing a helluva lot of stations..

I doubt that with the air pollution inspection requirements in much of MD which require stations to carry gas/ethanol blends it will be almost impossible to find pure "pure gas" outside of Western MD and parts of the Eastern Shore.

I don't know any specifics about ethanol however, I agree that your observations seem correct. Ethanol, which is advertised as cheaper seems to cause a decrease in my gas mileage. IMO, the cheapness is probably offset by the decreased mileage. From an environmental point of view we use ethanol from about Oct - March in order to help keep those emissions down.
