Any one have any estimates for utilities (electric/water/gas) for a single family home (2 stories & a basement) in Silver Spring near the Glenmont metro?

Thanks!

Of course the estimate will vary with how many people are there, size and efficiency of the house, and what temperatures you keep the house at. Two of us in a 4Br house had max winter bills of about $230 for gas, max summer bills about $230 for electricity. Winter electric bills of maybe $30, summer gas bills maybe $25. Water bills about $45 every two month, but more if using the lawn sprinklers.

Thanks, it will just be the two of us (for now) in a 4 bedroom. I appreciate the response!

We were not aiming to save a lot of money- we kept it about 70 degrees in winter and 72 degress in summer. We had double windows and an efficient furnace and A/C, and closed off the unused bedrooms. So your bill could be less.
