I need help please!!!!
I am moving to D.C area. My husband is going to work on D.C east side next to veterans hospital. I have a elementary school children. I need to know which of this to places (Chavy Chase MD or McLean VA) is better to live for a family. It is important public schools and really nice place to live.

You need to tell us what your budget is because both of these areas are some of the most expensive in the DC area.

Chevy Chase is a real nice area and might be closer to your job though I'm not sure how you'll be getting there. Many different neighborhoods to choose from since it is a large area. CC has great schools in all school levels though it can be quite jammed along CT ave. There is North Chevy Chase Elem on Jones Bridge Road and Chevy Chase on Rosemary st. near Bradley ln. Downtown Bethesda is also nearby with parks, trails and playgrounds nearby. More details would help too.

Recently there was a similar discussion asking for a comparison of Potomac and McLean. There were some really good points about McLean here: //www.city-data.com/forum/north...n-potomac.html

If you can afford them, Chevy Chase, Potomac and McLean are all very nice and have great public schools. The only negative about Chevy Chase is that houses are older (but full of character).
