I slightly disagree here. One of the neighborhoods in DC that borders Suitland is actually Fairfax Village. It's actually nice. There is also Hilcrest, that's about a block away from the MD-DC that is a nice area too. As a matter of fact that is the neighborhood that Vincent Gray lives in. A lot of wealthy black residents in DC lives in that section of the city. As you go up north of Pennsylvania Avenue, I agree those neighborhoods are rough on both the MD and DC sides.

If it makes you feel any better, I lived at Heather Ridge for 2 years (2011-2013) and never had an issue. I never had my apt broken into, never was mugged, and never had my car broken into. I did enjoy living there and never felt unsafe at any moment. I used to walk to BTC during the day and at night many times and never had an issue. Heather Ridge offers different activities for the residents throughout the year, so it's their form of giving back, and it seemed the better out of the 3 apts complexes in Bowie at the time. If I was in the position where I needed to move back into an apt, I wouldn't hesitate to hit them up. Just my opinion...

I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

I second this. The complex is probably the better of the options in the price range.

you and "others" have never been to Largo or stayed in that area..there is nothing "SEEDY" about it. Just because its not a bunch of white people exiting the train to go to work doesn't make a place seedy. I dont mind critiques but you should have knowledge of the area your critiquing

You should read the crime statistics and apartment reviews around the metro station. I have had a couple of friends who lived over there (mind you they do not even know each other ) and they both had their cars broken into or know someone in their complex that did. It's not a place of violent crime but car theft has always been a big problem.

I have actually lived in the vicinity myself too but I never had that issue (gated community ).

But once again, perception of crime and safety is subjective.

I almost considered moving there, but I heard the same thing from people and online.

so Largo is one square block around a apartment complex? You should have said that specific apartment complex. Even still there is nothing seedy about the metro station or the area that you need to be afraid of

Did I say the whole town of Largo or "around the metro station"?

You are entitled to your opinion.
