Looks like they are about to rev up the marketing/lobbying engine.

"Look for an announcement sometime this week from the developer of National Harbor of an alliance with a leading casino company to serve as the prospective operator of the casino the Peterson Cos. hopes to host at thePrince George's Countysite."

Whoever gets it will have a close venue to Washington DC and it's political connections. If you can buy stock in whatever company gets it, you will probably do OK.

That would be a good candidate. They have expressed an interest in the east coast with the casino they are proposing in MA. If they aren't it, I am sure they have been approached. The designs of their facilities is top tier.

That's my only concern. I don't want it to look like a piece of garbage. Like Baker said, if we're going to do it, we're going to do it big. we had a thread going before about casino architecture. I want something that is an architectural landmark. Like when you create an ad for DC, a picture of the casino is included because it is so striking as a landmark for the area. Sorta like the opera house in Sydney Australia.

I agree, it can't be cookie cutter like I have seen with Harrah's and Hollywood Casinos. Based on the WPost it appears that MGM may be the operator of the casino if it is approved.

Hmmmmm. They are very experienced. But the design of their hotels are conservative.

LOL, I feel the same way. If they are selected, I hope that they modify it to "pop" more. Considering the propose site, they need to create a visual "wow" when view from the potomac or 495/295. It is supposed to be a destination and generally speaking the DC area really doesn't warm up to mediocre.

Won't the contract have to be put out to bid just like the other ones were?
