I just hope they stick to the deal of bringing real upscale eating/shopping options. I heard about them bringing in "Bens Chili bowl" and I just shook my head. I love Bens but PG county does not need that store anywhere near us

Well they are offering a mix from casual to upscale. I am sure that there will be more upscale options but we won't know the final list until they close to opening due to competition

Bens Chili Bowl is not a bad addition to PG County because more than likely it will be built upscale like the one they just opened in Arlington.

oh wow didn't know they had one outside of U street, LMAO. I would still prefer a steak house or an Italian restaurant. Old Hickory at the National Harbor is Great, but would like to see more if possible

Does anyone know where there are pictures of the construction? A construction cam would be great like the one I posted for the College Park project. I'm sure lots of people would be interested in the progress. It's a pretty nice looking building.

I just drove past it yesterday. But it was a little foggy for a photo. However, its the largest construction site I've ever seen, other than 911 site in NY.

Not sure if this is where I should post this, but here goes.

We are considering looking into my husband working at the casino here when they open. We know NOTHING about the area. He's been in the Vegas casino biz for many years (Pit Boss), but we're looking for change. The area seems quite expensive and congested, so not sure if that would be worth it for us. We normally are "suburban neighborhood" types, rather than "city" people. But since we have no children, we might not mind being "city" people for a while...a new experience. Any thoughts on how bad the traffic might be for my hubby getting into/out of the casino? What if we lived right IN National Harbor. Could he easily drive to work? Since he'd likely work until 3 or 4 am, public transportation might not be available.

I am hopelessly blind here. I've never even been to visit D.C., so I barely know where to start. (Plus it's late and I really need to get to sleep. LOL)

Sure, National Harbor and the casino are a mile apart so it'd be an easy commute. If you're "suburban people" interested in checking out something new, Nat. Harbor might make sense - it's basically suburban in every way, but in an urbanized/grid footprint. "Urban-lite," if you will.

You will really have to check out the financials. Being a pit boss would pay more but the Washington Post had an article a few weeks ago about the dealer training classes MGM was running , (which the trainees paid for) and the salary was quoted as $8/hour. Yes I know there are tips above that.
