I live in SS. Need one this weekend. Shop at lot on Rockville Pike. Once went to the Kmart in Wheaton. Target on Rockville Pike comes to mind. Any other suggestions? Don't want to travel too far.

What kind of watch?

There's Sports Authority and Marshalls (just behind Target), maybe Ross (in Federal Plaza next to Micro Center and the new Silver Diner).

Any old analog wristwatch. I need one with the hour and minute hands.

I'm assuming you want a simple and cheap one. Any of the suggestions I made would work, though I haven't had watches in ages since I'm a jinx when it comes to them.

Think TIMEX. You can get a good ole cheap Timex analog watch at Walmart, Target, some Dollar stores and I have even seen them at 7-11.

It is the end of the weekend - I'm curious did you find one if so where?

How? People want advice on where to get a cheap watch in the DC metro area. This is City Data. This seems like a pointless post.

I went with Target. Then I took it back. Take it for what it's worth.

Target. Plenty of analog wristwatches in the jewelry section, though none of them really impressed me. It's hard to get a good watch nowadays.

It is pointless for the simple fact that it is not a commodity that is difficult to obtain through common sense routes. Yes, there are societally-understood qualitative standards for such posts: had you asked for 'where is the best place to golf in the DC metro area', that would make more sense than asking for a cheap watch which can be obtained by numerous sources (to include full national chain retailers such as the Target store in which you purchased - and returned - from).

So, yes. +2.
