Hi. I'm looking for a recipe that I think came out of the Good Housekeeping Cookbook from the 1950s. (My parents were married in 1957, and the cookbook was probably a wedding present.) The recipe is for "Elsa's Poundcake." The recipes that pop up when I google this are not the right ones. Does anyone have an old GH cookbook? Would be very grateful for help!

T'd move your question over to the General/Food and Drink/Recipes sub-forum for better results. There's a long discussion on pound cake.

However, you could also look for the cookbook on Ebay. There's one for $5.00 currently.

I have an old Joy of Cooking recipe that calls for 2 pounds of butter, 2 cups of sugar and 9 eggs separated, rosewater, etc. Is that anything like Elsa's?
