What the subject says... Just moved here, looking at riding the Metro into DC for work... Do the trains have wi-fi? Would make my life so much better if I could work on my computer there and back.
Thanks!

Nope. You'll only have the 3G/4G signal underground but no wi-fi, at least not yet.

Nope. No wi-fi and I wouldn't hold my breath for it to come anytime soon. I haven't even heard it raised as any type of proposal. AFAIK, none of the commuter rail lines in the area (MARC & VRE), have wi-fi either. So don't hold your breath for Metro.

I find that to be inconsistent. I ride the green line to Ft Totten and onto Silver Spring to see an orthopedic surgeon on a somewhat regular basis and when the train goes underground 3G doesn't happen. Maybe it's Sprint who doesn't keep up.

No, and 3G on metro is really, really spotty--I figure when underground, count on No Service. Aboveground is better.

That's too bad, I did read a press release (early 2011) that said this was in the work for 2012..... Lame. Thanks for the info!

I didn't have this problem in the Bethesda station.

Yes, there are some places it works but just travel a minute on the train and it all goes away. Spotty.

I've found that the 3G service at the stations is fine but in the tunnels its spotty.

Oh well in the trains, I can understand that.
