I live in Silver Spring and I must be smack dab in the middle of fan bases. I see some people wearing Nationals hats and T-shirts and others wear the orange & black Orioles stuff.

In Montgomery and PG Counties, which baseball team has the majority fan base? Whether you are a fan of the Washington Nationals or Baltimore Orioles, it is an exciting time to be following the local baseball clubs.

The possibilities of a Baltimore-Washington World Series are very good at this point.

Well there's a chance, but let's be honest, they both got work to do.

As for the OP's question, I grew up rooting for the Orioles, but of course the National came. I have allegiance with the Nationals (even before this year) because they are much easier to follow than Orioles in the DC region, but I still love my O's too. If you had to make me choose it's the Nats, but I'm sure there are a lot of people like me who spent many years rooting for the O's and now have a local team to root for.

With one in the National League and one in the American League a lot of folks are dual fans. And right now that is fine. We'll only know if they both make it to the Series who the true fans are!

Wait a minute aren't you from the Midwest, how did you become an O's fan? Just curious.

We're in MoCo; we're Orioles fans. In-laws in Fairfax are die-hard Nationals fans.

It's so nice to finally watch the O's WIN!

I went to 2/3 games in the O's @ Nats series interleague series, it was amazing to watch it finally turn into a rivalry. One busker showed no local allegiance though and gleefully played "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" for the O's fans.

PG and Montgomery are unquestionably O's territory? I'm not sure you've been paying attention. I travel around these counties a lot and I see Nats gear all over. Possibly more than Orioles I would say. If you're upcounty around Damascus or Brookeville or something you might have more O's fans.

Howard and Anne Arundel may be majority Orioles fans, no question, but a blanket statement that PG and Montgomery are O's turf seems ignorant. Maybe if you're an O's fan you just don't want to see it... Close in Montgomery and south PG are majority Nats areas from what I've seen. If I'm in Landover or Brandywine for example I seldom see O's gear, mostly all the stuff I see is Nats. Montgomery and north PG have more of a split, even close-in.
