I currently live in southern Calvert County, MD and am thinking about moving to P.G. County (maybe Upper Marlboro). I have two children who are in elementary school and I wonder how are the schools in P.G. County especially in the Upper Marlboro area. I am currently doing some research on the schools but need some input from anyone who may have some information. Thanks!

I don't mean to be an ass, but you clearly haven't done your research. They're dozens upon dozens of topics on Prince George's County Schools, posted on this forum. Grant it, a lot of the information is MISINFORMATION, by people spreading gossiping they heard from others, but a lot of the info is credible. Prince George's County has the third largest school system in the Baltimore/Washington Metro Area with 204 schools. You can't really sum up the entire school system in a response that will be credible. You'll have to ask some extreme specifics. Some schools in the county are great, many area so-so, and a lot of really bad. It depends on a lot of factors. Also, there are nine elementary schools zoned in Upper Marlboro, and that doesn't necessarily guarantee you'll child will be zoned to one of those schools in Upper Marlboro. PGCPS has a school finder search engine that will tell you the schools zoned to an exact address if you have one. It can be found at the following link...

The PG school is one of the number one tools we have been using during our home search. We also use http://www.greatschools.org in conjunction for reviews. I would agree this is your best place to start.
