Hello,

We are planning to move to Gaithersburg, MD for new job. Came to know its costly compared to phoenix AZ. Can someone help us to know approx monthly expenditure for a family of 2(husband and wife). We are not hi-fi family, kind of middle class.

Where in Gaithersburg are you looking? How big a place are you looking for? Own? Rent? How many cars do you have? How far will you be commuting?

We need a lot more detail before we can even begin to help here!

Cool, here's what I would think:

Rent: $1000-1500
Electric: $100-125
Cable/Internet - $150
Car Insurance - $100
Gas - $50

Are you both working in Germantown? Do you have any pets?

Thanks, that was quite helpful. Only my hubby will be working. How much grocery/food cost will come approximately.

I have no idea what your eating habits are. Dozen eggs runs about $2, gallon of milk is $5, pound of butter is $4.

Welcome to Maryland Why live in Gaithersburg? Germantown itself is usually less expensive. The closer anyone can live to work in the Montgomery County area - the less of a hassle the traffic will be (and traffic is a nightmare in this area)
