How safe is The Cresent at Cherry Lane subdivision in Laurel MD 20707? Is this a safe place to raise a family or is it just a new community in a ghetto area? We'll be doing private schools but I am interested in settling down there and buying a townhouse. I looked up Laurel and I know North Laurel is safer and more expensive to buy a house too but what about South Laurel 20707 area? I'm not a MD resident but am considering moving there because the newer communities are cheaper then surrounding issues and the location is great for us (work, school, worship).

I live in South Laurel, maybe 5-6 miles away. Not sure if I can accurately picture the development you are referring to. On Google maps it shows up behind the hospital. There are newer and older developments there. Either way, it's certainly not the worst you could do in Laurel. I don't believe there is much crime or nuisance in the immediate area.
