I stay in Texas and the majority of Nigerians here are Igbos. I'm Yoruba. I have a lot of family out in Jersey and MD, and it seems like the majority over there is Yoruba. Is that the same in the DC Metro?

Very specific question. Does it really matter? So you immigrated to America to maintain tribalism? This is what's wrong with immigration today folks aren't required to assimilate since we allow so many here. People can stay comfortably within their own little niches.

I say this with respect as a child of African immigrants.

Don't confuse curiosity with tribalism. Igbos are cool and we are all equal. Maybe I should minor in Anthropology (not sure if that's the field), because I'm so interested in this kind of stuff.

I'm Yoruba and I have Igbo and Edo (other tribes in Nigeria) friends. Obviously tribalism doesn't come into play here.

I would say that Yorubas have a strong presence here in PG, especially in places like Bowie, Largo, Laurel, Upper Marlboro, etc. Have plenty of Yoruba Nigerians on my community college campus in Largo as well(PGCC) and I was also close to dating one too! She's from Bowie and she's quite beautiful! I think she's 1st generation Nigerian (Don't know about her tribal ethnicity though), but she's originally from Houston so that might be a clue I suppose. Hopefully that should help
