i am looking to move to SS
i would like to know your favorite parts that are family friendly, and why you like them or would suggest them
my understanding is that SS is a large area, thus i ask
we are late 30's, interracial couple starting a family, well educated yet down to earth. we prefer vietnamese/sushi/indian food to be within arms reach, we also prefer to live in a place whereas we do not have to look over our backs
we are from philly, and have enjoyed a good bit living in university city (if that reference means anything to you)

but again, family friendly, not frat/college hoo rah rah, yet not dead vinyl villages
old houses are a plus!

Live near the Wheaton Mall, and you will find a dozen Asian restaurants in walking distance. There's a very good sushi place, the Yokahama, on Georgia, a dim sum place around the corner on Reedie Drive, a couple of Pho noodle shops and a Pan-Asian market on University. I can't think of an Indian place however, but there are some in Rockville.

There are plenty of 50's and 60's houses in the 20902 zip code (encompassing Wheaton) that could use some rehabbing.
