There have been discussions in the past about Whites leaving PGC, while the rate is higher, PGC isn't the only county loosing this demographic. Meanwhile, brush up on your Spanish.

Quote:
It's no secret that the District is getting whiter and less black. The city lost 3.3 percent of its black population from 2007 to 2012, according to a new analysis from the Center for Regional Analysis at
George Mason University. At the same time, its white population increased by 17.2 percent.
But in the same time period, D.C.'s Hispanic population grew by 28 percent. And the number of residents who classified themselves as an "other" race or ethnicity jumped by 27.3 percent.
Quote:
Bucking the trend was Arlington County, where the Hispanic population grew by only 4.9 percent, the “other” by 2.7 percent, but the black population soared by 30.2 percent — significantly more than any other jurisdiction.
Will Arlington become the new Chocolate City?

Arlington is less than 10% black. It would take decades for that change to happen.

As for the rest, it is interesting to see so many leaving out of Maryland in general. And the places that have a decline in white population seem to have Hispanics as the fastest growing group.

The article notes at the end that the region has grown by about a half million people over the time surveyed. It would be interesting to see how much of this change is due not to people moving out but the rate of new people moving in.

Misleading because bases are different.

So where are those whites moving to? Do they simply quit their well-paid jobs in DC area and move to iowa or Idaho instead?

So what'll they do if in 10 years those places became multi-ethnic like where they left?

Does this demographic change reality talked about about America sink in with these people or do they have plans to establish teriitory in space, as Gingriech joked around?

LOL! I am not really paranoid about the whole thing. But to answer your question, were the most "drastic" demographic changes to come to past, Whites in the US will fall to 50% of the population.

That is still a pretty formidable percentage, indeed the biggest.

Consequently, it will alway be relatively easy for a white person to move to a place that is dominated by other white people, if he or she so desires.

As for Maryland, I suspect a lot of it is older folks moving to Florida for retirement or dying off. I doubt high income whites are leaving anymore than high income whites leave Los Angeles or New York. Money solves a lot of problems, both real and perceived.

The table is pretty clear on that one: Whites are moving in to DC, Loudoun, Prince William, and Arlington. The overall white population in the DC area is growing slowly, not shrinking.

All these "work/life" programs... who wants to spend 2 hours in traffic... it is stupid. Live in DC and spend more time with family.

I moved my wife and kids from Rockville to Charlotte. Both she and I had jobs in Rockville with a combined income of just under 200k. Moved to Charlotte with a job in hand now we have combined income of nearly 260k. Well paying jobs are not just in the DC Area. Ultra high col and taxes are though.
