Vigilante Coffee is coming to Hyattsville. His coffee is served in a number of DC area restaurants and cafes.

I must say I'm real impressed with what is happening on RT. 1. The retail that is coming is amazing after what we have experienced in the past few decades. If we land Founding Farmers, a well-known power lunch and dinner restaurant in D.C., I think I will be satisfied for a while.

I'm sure it's more my ignorance, than anything, but I've never heard of "Founding Farmers" and just the name itself is something that would turn me off. Just doesn't have a name that would be appealing to me, and would want me to try out the establishment.

When I first heard of the restaurant, I thought the name was not appealing also but it is a good restaurant and pretty popular. I have been told that the one in Potomac is much better on the Foodie scale then the one in DC.

Don't get too carried away. Founding Farmers is just, okay. IMO. Still, its probably better than what is already over in that area and will lead to more migration of white-tablecloth restaurants. Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for, Founding Farmers, like Whole Foods aint cheap.....I've really toned down my visits to Whole Foods, I got tired of walking out of there with just a few items and a $50+ bill

If I already eat at restaurants like Founding Farmers, but 15 miles from home, then why should I not want them in my backyard? Founding Farmers is not cheap, but its not expensive either. It's no more expensive than the Cheesecake Factory or even Outback Steakhouse. I have eaten there more than once and they have a delicious prime rib steak that can be had for $16. That's your average non-high-end price. No one is asking for Prime Rib or Ruth's Chris price-ranges.

And as far as Whole Foods prices are concerned, Yes! Organic and My Organic Market, which both exist in Hyattsville and College Park, are both more expensive than Whole Foods. I see no problem with these establishments being where they are wanted. No, they are not for everyone, like yourself, but there are those of us who can afford them and would like to be able to take a short drive to them rather than having to make a day trip out of it.
