Unless it's already been decided, a decision by this evening may be an aggressive schedule. A public hearing usually adjourns and the record is then kept open for a period of time (can vary from a week to three weeks, sometimes longer).

This will be especially true if new information comes out or new questions are raised about facets of the proposals.

Channel 4 news implied that a decision would be made today. "Today Prince George's County will find out which new casino they will get."

Don't shoot the messenger.

The commission has stated for weeks that a decision would be made today. They have promised since May that a decision would be made in late December (which we later learned would be the 20th) From my understanding they will be casting their votes today (probably informally releasing the results) and provide the decision memo within a week or so. Based on their current schedule), whomever gains the license, will be required to complete certain tasks at the state and county level by mid January (10th-15th). With a timeline that tight it is probable that we will get some type of confirmation today. As for new information being brought to the table, that was the purpose of the last two meeting held earlier this month.

From the first 45 minutes, it sounds as if MGM has it in the bag.
