I know what you mean, getting on BW from greenbelt (by the exxon gas station) is horrible.

It's a big contrast, you drive on the newly paved greenbelt rd, then when getting on BW ramp, it feels like you are driving on a road hit my artiliary shells. Their are potholes everywhere with large sections of asphalt missing. BW needs a lot of work. Merging on BW from beltway is a nightmare! The merge area is short. When merging... I always pray that I find a gap in traffic to merge and that don't get rear ended or hit someone else.

The part maintained by the National Park Service from DC/MD line to about Rte. 32 is certainly showing its age, especially in some of the roadway signage. In addition, several (actually most) of the merge lanes are quite dangerous due to the volume of traffic that accumulates in and around them.

In truth, I believe there is too much volume to warrant maintenance as a national byway, and the road would be much better served under complete ownership by the Maryland Highway Administration.

Agreed. The Park Service has shown that they can't maintain it.

much better now, at least the part near greenbelt. it no longer threatens to shake your car to pieces anyway.

The B-W Parkway needs so much help. It needs re-paving, a good amount of re-striping, widening, and merge areas. How a freeway can have ramps with no merge areas in 2014 is beyond me. I almost always drive a little out of my way to take I-95 instead of the Parkway so I can have a better drive.

You mean they fixed it? Or patched it?

Was on it tonight. I'm so glad they fixed that. Now the exit ramp from BW Pky north to 193 needs to be fixed.
