Rumors are swirling around that the State of Maryland hasn't funded the construction of the new interchange.

I think it's really sad that this project has been talked about and promised for years and years yet nothing is happening. We're interested in buying in Parklands, but we're starting to have second thoughts about investing in the community.

3/25 Update: DESIGN: The project’s design is currently moving towards its 90% completion in Summer 2015. Roadway, Stream Restoration and structure plans are being developed. Coordination with Utility Companies (Verizon, WSSC, Comcast, Colonial Pipeline, Level-3) for relocations is on-going. Utility test holes along these facilities are completed. The Maryland Department of the Environment approved the project’s Stormwater Management concept. Soil Test Borings are being completed.

FUNDING: This Project is fully funded for Design, Right of Way, Utility Relocations, and Construction.

Wow. Had no idea. Used to live near Watkins Mill HS in the 80s (before the H.S. was actually there). And that road was a small two lane road (used to walk to MV Jr High). Went by there years ago and didn't even recognize it.

This is obviously a way further north than where this interchange is planned though. Just never thought it would be used enough to get its own exit on I270.
