With a regional hospital and a metro stop, it should be fine. The hope is that it doesn't turn into its former iteration, "BLVD at the CAP." Usually, with regional hospitals of this type, there are ancillary offices nearby. Not saying it will happen here, but the plans look promising.

Being open for business is one thing. But the jobs need to have good pay, good benefits, and dignity. Otherwise what's the point?

Jobs need to be created across the spectrum not just “good jobs with good pay”.

There is little point to creating bad jobs.

There is the rub. The PG County goverment has no idea if these are good or bad jobs .Yet they will sell their soul to the devil for the Tax revenue.Amazon warehouse workers are not good jobs. While the money might not seem bad for some the working conditions are terrible.

You talk as if Virginia didn't do the same thing. Or any other state for that matter. A lot of other counties in this country sold their souls.

Modern day NIMBYism/ anti-growth strategy in it's prime. Amazon officially backing out of Prince George's all together....Who wins here?

"Amazon is a dynamic business and we are constantly exploring new locations and weighing a variety of factors when decided where to develop future sites to best serve our customers," Lighty wrote in an emailed statement. "As such, we are no longer exploring opportunities for growth in Prince George's County."

Guess this has been a while in the making!

Just drove by Woodmore yesterday, the Silver Diner now has a sign saying they're opening November 13th at 4 PM for dinner. Breakfast won't start until November 18th, however.

For anyone who hasn't visited a Silver Diner recently, it's definitely worth a visit. There's a lot more variety on their menu than one would expect.
