I live off exit 17a and personally am rooting for the Landover site to be chosen honestly. I know the lack of transit will be troublesome. But that area NEEDS redevelopment and needs it ASAP. Property values in and around that immediate area could also use that boost. IMO if things are properly executed with Largo Hospital, FBI- Landover, and New Carrolton/ Purple line, we could begin to establish some serious development nodes in Central Prince George's. This could truly bridge the gap between the Southern half and Northern half of the county.

I could see Greenbelt still being chosen as a site by a private developer in the future because there is already Metro there. The need is not as dire to develop that site as the Northern half of the county seems to progress faster than Central.

I could see them taking down Maple Ridge if this happens, because of the need to attract more citizens to want to live in that area. Right now the torn down mall is a dump. It's time to start being taken serious as a lower cost yet livable and comfortable place for people in the DMV.

What if the Landover site isn't chosen? What is Lerner's backup plan? Or does he plan on sitting on the property another 20 years? That property sat empty a decade before the recession. Not sure why Lerner all of a sudden thinks it is a prime site now.

But see that's my point, like what if? What if the FBI chooses Greenbelt and then four exits down the beltway in Landover a suburban wasteland lays barren with no signs of life on the way. Then imagine the Redskins leaving FedEx a decade later. That site less is attractive to future developers or development (in case Lerner sells) because of the lack of transit etc. Greenbelt I feel will fall in line perfect once we get the ball rolling with Purple Line, New Carrolton, Largo Hospital and its surroundings, and (possibility of Landover FBI) with some redevelopment to follow. Not to say I dislike the idea of having FBI at Greenbelt because it makes obvious sense due to transit, but Landover would be an impactful gap filler.

I like seeing the possibility of driving up the Beltway from the Wilson Bridge all the way to I 95 split with our own little mini nodes at as many exits as possible.

Does anyone know what the large construction is in front of the new Dave and Buster's at the Ritchie Marketplace shopping center? I saw it driving on 495 the other day.

I'd be intrigued to know, I rode past it today. It dwarfs D&B in size and the only thing I could think of was a Lowes, but there is a BJ's right there and a Home Depot not far away.

Not sure what will be there but I don't think its a Lowes. I heard Wal-Mart at one point but it seems too small for that. I looked on pg planning but didn't see anything definitive.

Looks like it could be a movie theater like what was previous discussed on this thread. I say that because the front entrance looks so large and it has alot of exit doors on the side, like it would need for each theater.
