I'm moving to MD soon and don't know nothing. Trying to research different areas. Don't care about schools. Doesn't have to be super pristine, but at the same time don't wanna have to go out with my gun every time. Just a decent, affordable area close to Annapolis.
Thanks.

Why not live in Annapolis if your job is there, or are you trying to be closer to DC (nightlife, etc...)?

It would help if you provide a little bit more information such as your budget on housing (1 bedroom or 2 bedroom etc...) and other amenities that your looking for.

If your trying to be closer to DC, but not too far from Annapolis, check out Bowie near the Bowie Town Center area...but not sure if that's in your budget.

My budget is the cheaper the better. I dont have to be close to DC or anything. I just figured Annapolis might not work out cuz it looks spendy or at least spendier than other places round there. Not sure if its cuz of the naval academy or that its next to the water or what.

Then head away from Annapolis. Either go south to places like Prince Frederick, or north to Glen Burnie, or over the bridge to the Eastern Shore (but away from the water).

Ok, thanks. Prince Frederick is too far. I wanna stay within 30 min commute. I noticed Glen Burnie has some cheaper places. Whats that town like?

Bowie, Glen Burnie, Millersville or across the Bay Bridge. You might find something in Annapolis though. If you stay away from the downtown and water areas, there are some modest affordable areas in Annapolis.

A working-class suburb of Baltimore, with some nice areas and some scruffy areas. The income is a bit lower than the state average. It's about 58% white, 26% African American, 7% Hispanic.

Where are you coming from? I ask because if you're coming from a low cost area you will likely suffer sticker shock for housing.

I think Pasadena has mostly single-family homes, and is more expensive than Glen Burnie. You are looking to rent an apartment, aren't you? Then I agree with the other poster who said Bowie or Millersville.
