That said, I'm still waiting for Chick-fil-A to open off campus in College Park.

Nice to see cranes flying again in College Park. I also noticed the lot between Taco Bell and 7-Eleven being cleared.

This pandemic is odd. During the great recession of 2008, everything stopped. The world shut down for a month and a half and caused economic ripples throughout the world, and construction and financial markets are like, "There is a pandemic?"

Have any businesses closed in College Park as a result of the pandemic?

It must be tough for businesses that rely mostly on college students for their revenues.

The summer is a normal slowdown for businesses in College Park. I imagine we'll see some impacts next year from campus being closed in the fall and no college football?

Over this weekend, I noticed that both car and foot traffic has increased in College Park. The students are returning. But I understand classes will be held online during the fall semester. I imagine the returning students are those who are locked in off campus apartment leases. My niece, an incoming freshman, will be taking online classes from home. I'm really disappointed for her. She should be moving into a dorm, enjoying freshman life, making new friends, etc.

Update on the City Hall project https://dbknews.com/2020/09/22/city-...q4CSYn6jaDNS_I

After nearly seven months of work, College Park City Hall’s construction reached a milestone last Wednesday: the pouring of the first floor’s cement slab.

One of the next big milestones for the project will be “topping out,” or pouring the top floor on the four-story building, Campbell said, which is set to happen in December. After that, he said, work on the building’s exterior can begin.

That park is too small to be functional. They should've simply purchased the house next door, planted trees and called it quits. The eye sore on the other side of the road should be re-forested as well.

Milkboy Arthouse had so much promise. I hope these people, if given the opportunity, can make something out of the space.
