Hello, I'm finishing up graduate school in a month or two. I recently was offered a job in Chevy Chase, MD, and was curious where would be a good place for me to live.

I don't really care about night life or dating, I'm 31, I can spend $1,600 total for rent/utils, I own a car, in a serious relationship, I wouldn't mind using public transportation if I had to, and I don't have any pets.

I've lived in Florida all of my life so using public transportation is foreign to me.

I've done some of my own research, and think Rockville might be a good choice.

The only thing I don't want nor does my girlfriend want is to live close to college students, we're both sick of it after graduate school.

Thank you so much for any suggestions.

Somewhere close to the employer. Ideally... within walk/bicycle distance.
Make it easy to dive into the job.

Bethesda, MD claims to be the highest-educated town in the entire United States, and has high housing costs to match, as you've probably noticed. Rockville or Silver Spring (which sprawls over a very wide area) are possibilities for you.

Assuming you're just looking for a 1 bedroom, Rockville or North Bethesda/Grosvenor would be good fits.
