I have been offered a job with FDA and I am trying to figure out the best way to commute other than driving (i.e. car pools, van pools). I really do not want to deal with 95/495 traffic. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you both for this information. The metro commute is almost two hours, so I was trying to avoid that. I would like to find a car/van pool. The drive is 45 minutes but I don't want to do that everyday.

Going east to west or vice versa on 495 is some of the worst rush hour traffic I've experienced in the Metro area.GL

That drive is way longer than 45 minutes is you drive it during rush hour.

Take the job. Drive, take transit etc till you meet some people and you will more than likely find somebody to carpool with. There are also many aps and websites you can use to find people to carpool with. Just google DC carpool.

This is late for you but someone who works at FDA told me they are good about schedules and teleworking although I'm sure it also depends on the job, department, etc. See if you can get a schedule where you come in really early and thus can leave early, e.g., 7:00 to 3:30 and/or to telework from home part of the week.
