Seems to me that this entire thread (and its title, no less) is about precious feelings.

In America, we are culturally conditioned to believe, that White is superior, Black is inferior, and the manifestation of that cultural conditioning is that Black people are undervalued, underestimated and marginalized. It's not a racist statement. It's a fact of life.
You just undervalued and marginalized the tangible harm that racism has caused this country and the people that it has been directed toward. Nice job of verifying everything we've been saying.

I know it is hard for some people to accept the harm racism does to the country as a whole.

It should be acknowledged that black people as a whole in this country haven't been utterly destroyed from enduring such racism and prejudice and have found ways to not just survive, but to rise up and become valuable contributors to society under such an oppressive system. Their perseverance should command respect. But because of racism and prejudice, black people have 'personal responsibility' and laziness thrown in their faces when trying to overcome the effects of racism and discrimination.

Perhaps deep down some people are angry at themselves that with all their white privilege, there are some black people who have become more successful than they have despite having the weight of racism and discrimination on their shoulders.

Otherwise, I don't get the reactions of some when subject of racism is brought up.

Not really. It’s part of the human condition. But, for arguments sake I’ll ask how you plan to combat this once it’s a Hispanic majority in this country. They are people too and will bring all of the same bad habits. Last time I checked they clash over whether someone is Salvadoran, Mexican, Guatemalan etc....heck, they just love black people.

This will be a harmonious place soon. I can see the gleam in your eyes when this wonderful day comes

See it as you wish, but it doesn’t look like you’re attracting anyone to your cause that doesn’t already agree with you.

People, even if they had equal or similar funds, would more often than not self-segregate to be somewhere that they feel most comfortable. I don’t care but I’m a lone fool

But seriously being more positive, I think PG County will improve. If nothing else the combination of Montgomery County stagnating and N VA being residentially built up and with the Amazon thing coming etc. PG County has bright days ahead with its space and lower costs of living. I’d imagine people becoming more concerned with how their tax dollars are being used and holding the local political leadership more accountable will come into focus as well.

Of course if you were hoping for peace and quiet then it has rougher days upcoming haha
