The OP doesn't like life the DMV. It's a rat race. I tolerate it but will leave the DMV, like many people do, after retirement. No big deal.

Yeah, but his diatribe is pointless. Plus I would not be surprised if this poster has multiple accounts.....

I do not like the endless development, and where I am in southern Cockeysville has become a dump! Not on the surface, but it's happened.

I really agree with the right on very little, but equally disagree with the far left on many issues. (To broad to discuss)

Maryland has become waaay to expensive.

It will be a tough decision, and I may not leave the state, but I will definitely this area.

(And yes, there are quite a few states that are surprisingly expensive, and do not offer much for the cost)

No, we get it. You rarely agree with anything said here either.

I said I would never leave. Born and raised here. But the more I visit Florida, I'm over this cold weather sh*t. lol I love snow. Love tracking snow storms. But figured I could fly to a ski resort if I need a little dip in the ice cold powder.

The rat race is everywhere. At least the environs can be a little more forgiving. I figure I could move to Florida and get a little part time consulting gig after I retire. But I'm over these wild swings in weather.

BUt there be hurricanes in Florida.....

Wouldn't that be the Pacific NW?

AS far as the heat is concerned, the summers here are just as brutal. I think there are some areas in FL where you could at least get a ocean breeze. I can't stand those summer days where it's just hot, no clouds, and not even the wind from a butterfly's wings stirs.

I meant the same type of weather as Britain.

I have a cousin and several friends who've moved to Florida shortly after they retired. My brother plans to move somewhere between Fort Myers and Tampa in a few years. I prefer the Atlantic side, having spent the summer in Ft. Lauderdale about 10 years. But I'd also like a quiet piece of land in PA to grow vegetables.
