I am moving to DC area soon and I am curious about input on living in Maryland and commuting to Tyson's. I have kids, so elementary schools are super important. In a perfect world, great schools, 30 minute or less commute and townhouse or sfh for less than 425000 in a suburban area with low crime and a starbucks. I realize that I am not getting all of that. Interested in your recommendations to how close I can get to having it all!
Thanks in advance.

North Potomac. You can get most of that. The commute might be slightly long though.

Try Rockvile or Derwood too. Commute might be rough but depends somewhat on time of day. This part of Montgomery county prides themselves on their schools. Be forewarned that there are a lot of "overachievers" in this area and they pass that down to their children
