They have zero say lol. Trust me if the decision was Greenbelt they would suck it up and make the daily drive. No one in PG is making long treks to the outer reaches of NOVA. I swear people are beyond annoying

Then you don't know how management thinks. Move to a location the vast majority of your employees will consider undesirable or move somewhere else? What would you decide?

If you don't think that people from Prince George's don't already drive to the "outer reaches" then you need to think again.

The people making the decision is not the typical “management” you are thinking about. It is the government, and have to think about more issues than just the one you think trumps all others.

It's true that where a CEO lives has a strong impact on where their company is located, but the FBI is not a private company. The decision is made by the GSA and influenced by political leadership. PG is already home to a number of federal agencies and it's not because the heads of those departments really thought their employees loved PG.

There are field offices, not headquarters.

One thing no one ever takes into account is the Maryland bureaucracy and elected officials who are bound and determined to not help Prince George's get anything federal.

Losing Mikulski was the worst possible thing to happen. Cardin really doesn't have the influence nor does Van Hollen.

Official data from the Maryland Dept of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation. 87,946 VAians work in Maryland. 125,681 MDers work in Virginia. Lots of VA and DC plates over here.

And, because the proposed Springfield, VA FBI HQ location site is closer to the existing FBI Training Center in Quantico, VA.

The Census Bureau is headquartered in PG. NASA headquarters are in DC proper but Goddard in Greenbelt is one of 10 NASA centers with one of the largest workforces. The IRS Small Business/Self-Employed Divisional headquarters are in Lanham and employs over 5K.
