I have lived in Capitol Heights and it is not the greatest place to live however, there are many other surrounding cities that are wonderful such as Upper Marlboro, Largo, and Bowie.

I hope this is helpful!

PS: Car insurance is more expensive for PG Residents.

Especially if you live inside the beltway.

Default The Biggest secret in Prince George's County

Capitol Heights is the BIGGEST SECRET in Prince Georges County, Md. and people don't know. Capitol Heights has two metro stations that are set for affordable and high-end development along with recreation centers and entertainment shops. Any new business coming into the area should review the plans and decide is it worth the money to setup further outside the beltway or be apart of the BIGGEST SECRET. A task force will also be setup to deal with the school issues and tackle new ways to improve our schools along with more participation from parents. The crime issues will be work on by the Town going to 24 hour service along with the county continue their consistent patrolling and support. In the end I only hope that you do your research and come to a conclusion that Capitol Height is the right place for me.

Capital Heights is on the up and coming. I am 115 pounds 5 3" and have no problem with walking around the area. I have clients who are purchasing homes in this area so I do walk around the area with my client or by myself and have no problem. Crimes in school are all over because I went to High school in Montgomery County in Olney and majority of the white kids were on crack. When a white student had a party it was nothing but alcohol and drugs. People try to make it seem like white children are 100% perfect and black children are the only ones with problem. Let’s talk about all the white kids and only white kids who either make bombs or shoot up their schools. SO please lets get off the race issue because we can go on and on about how crazy white people are. White people scared the crap out of me because I see them all as crazy and suicidal. When a white person get fired at their jobs I always tell my friend stay at home because you know they will get a gun and shoot up the entire company.

Your friend made a wise decision on moving to capiol Heights because they will get a lot of property appreciation. The county is building new shopping center and developers are building in the area. I know people are loosing property value but not in Capitol Heights. Home Owners in Capitol Heights are gaining value. I have a client who purchase a home one month ago and the value just went up $30,000 in one month.

Capitol Heights has peaceful attractive areas and some not so peaceful and attractive areas. I admonish you to muse over the different areas before forming a judgment. Once finding an area that interests you it's a good idea to return for a visit at differing times of the day/night. Certain pockets of CH seem to largard behind in the revitalization process that's sweeping the town as a whole.

CH is a work in progress.

I hope that helps

Peppermill Village, Rolling Estates, Wilburn Estates, Sunset Hills are not part of Capitol Heights. Neither is Addison Rd. metro station. These are unincorporated parts of Prince George's County. Just like Fairfield Knolls, Waterford Estates and Millwood are not part of District Heights or Forestville. Now the real Capitol Heights between Marlboro Pike and Southern Avenues with the mayor's office on Capitol Heights Blvd. is the real town. It needs lots of help and has great potential being so close to D.C. As someone mentioned, its a work in progress. One other thing. What on earth is up with Iscalder?

What does this have to do with Capitol Heights?

You only post a little piece of my comment. The reason for that comment was I am so tired of folks only pointing fingers at Blacks kids and making it seem as if White children are perfect and make no mistakes. If you notice on this forum people only mention about black schools and all the crimes in the urban community but forget to mention the shooting in majority white schools. We tend to over look the imperfection of whites and only notice the wrongs in Blacks.
