Does anyone have any general information on the area? I am probably doing a ride-along at the fire station there next week. It's located across the street from the Addison Rd/Seat Pleasant Metro stop. I'm guessing that there is a lot of crime due to the fact that it's one of the busiest stations in PG County, as well as the entire country. I guess I'll see for myself, but is the area really run down? Is there anything around? With the Metro so close, I figure that I can go to DC for most things, but Im just wondering. Any info would be great.

Thanks

Umm....yes that area is extremely depressed for sure and I don't think you want to go into DC nearby either that area is just as bad.

Although if your doing a ride along with the Fire Department there , the fire fighters should be able to tell you where to go or not to go. I'd take there advice if your not use to being in rough neighborhoods. Hope your ride along goes well.

Thanks for the info. If I lived there I'd be living in a fire house with a bunch of other firefighters so there's really no danger with that. Sounds like there wouldn't be much to do in the area though. I figure I could always take the Metro to Adam's Morgan or something in DC for nightlife though since it's right across the street.

zippy... you pretty much covered the exact reason that I'm looking there. haha As a young guy trying to gain experience, I want a busier area.

bunky... thanks for your info as well. I've never lived in a very rough area, but I've been through several alone while traveling. I've never had a problem since I just ming my own business and try not to look like a tourist.

Last month I got off the Metro on the border of Compton and South Central LA. I didn't even realize it at the time since I had to use the bathroom. When coming back a Sheriff actually came up to me and told me that I was in a very bad area and he made sure that I got on the next train okay. haha

Thanks again. Hopefully all goes well.
