Hello All, former marylander (Garrett Park) now living in Austin, Texas. I am a middle school teacher who is bringing up 15 8th graders to the Inauguration next month (I know, it seems crazy). We have a hotel room outside of Balt and vans to get us around. I was wondering if anyone knew about a paid parking lot we could arrange with beforehand near the Greenbelt Metro Station?

I am not aware of any "paid" parking lots in the area near the Greenbelt metro station. There was an article in today's Wahsington Post (WP) that the parking lot at the Greenbelt Metro is going to be for buses ONLY on Inauguration. There are a number of churches in the Greenbelt area. Perhaps you could contact them and make a "deal" for a small donation.
FYI the WP has a website dedicated to Inauguration www.washingtonpost.com/inaugural (http://www.washingtonpost.com/inaugural - broken link) Personally, I think that any traffic plans announced at this point are going to be subject to change. I don't think the traffic plans will be finalized until after the first of the year.

You might have better luck trying a parking lot near one of the MARC train stations -- they may be less crowded than the Greenbelt metro area.
