What would the commute be like driving between downtown Silver Spring and Rockville? I have found Silver Spring slightly cheaper and more "livable" than Rockville. And the office in Rockville isn't metro accessible, which is why I would have to be driving.

I imagine Veirs Mill Road (the road between Wheaton and Rockville) would be very congested, as would Randolph Road. I know Georgia Avenue would be congested (because it is always congested). Still, that commute wouldn't be that bad.

Have you looked into whether your office is near the Metrobus Q2 route (runs between Silver Spring and Rockville/Shady Grove along Veirs Mill Road and Rockville Pike) or the Ride On Route 5 (runs between Silver Spring, White Flint, and Twinbrook along various roads)? The Metrobus J5 route also runs between Silver Spring and Twinbrook, but uses the Beltway for most of the route.
