Well it was a real treat getting on those buses and going to that new school so you could reap the benefits of the overnite "white flight" out of this county. I remember those picket signs like it was yesterday.

I have a few friends who visted out home and mention to me and my husband that is the 1980's that blacks were not allowed in Upper Marlboro. They were allowed but the whites would scared the blacks off to where blacks didnot want to drive or walk through Upper marlboro. It funny how times have change.
I think the whites in Upper Marlbor in my opinion are for the most part friendly. I have no problems with us mixing. I think the whites and Blacks in Pg county are more excepting of each other.

Default question

Would you agree that whites have been a minority in this county since 1980?

Default I thought you read my posts for laughs

If you think I'm white then your reading comprehension is lacking.

We were the Palmer Park version of the Jeffersons in '66. My father paid three times the value of the house he bought behind Kent Jr. High with the help of the NAACP.

When those pissed off racists were rocking that bus when it pulled into the school in that white neighborhood I thought we would be lynched right there!
Just think I went through that hell just so you could be on this forum thinking I am white. What a reward!

You remember 35 years ago like it were yesterday? Someone didn't smoke alot of pot. See, I can deduce with the best of them.

....seriously 73FB I apologize on behalf of the folks who neither recognize nore respect the tribulations endured by so many so they can live the dream which is Prince Georges County.

I'll gladly carry the torch and make you proud sir!
