I recently moved to Silver Spring, MD for work and I just found out that I've been accepted to Johns Hopkins for graduate school. I can't afford to move, plus I like where I'm living. Does anyone have any suggestions for commuting to Johns Hopkins via public transportation from Silver Spring? Do any of you commute from Silver Spring to Baltimore via public transit? Thanks.

Assuming you mean Homewood, You're much better off with a car. For public transportation, I don't think there's any other way to do it besides taking the Washington Metro Red Line or Marc Train Brunswick to Union station, to take the Marc Commuter train to Baltimore's Penn Station, then taking a cab/shuttle to JHU.

That'll be quite a commute... my wife works at Hopkins and I work in DC... to make it easier for both of us, we picked Odenton to live... it's halfway between DC and Baltimore, so makes both of our commute reasonable... u could take metro to Union Station, then take MARC Penn Line and try to see if there are any shuttle or light train to get u to JH... Just a word on MARC train, it's not like Metro... it's not as frequent as Metro, so if some reason u miss one, it'll mess up ur schedule... I would also suggest driving.
