I just moved to Olney and now it's time to research the preschools in the area? Does anyone have certain ones they recommend? I have found several that I need to get more info on and see if they actually have an opening for the fall. The kids would be going to Olney Elementary (at some point - and if that makes a difference in preschools)

Thanks!

I know Olney elementary does pre-k... Or are your kids too young for even that? BTW Olney elementary is an awesome school... I went there about 13 years ago and my sister went there also...

Try Lutheran Church of Saint Andrew Preschool.
15300 New Hampshire Avenue.

not IN Olney, but a short drive via Norwood road (preschool is at corner of Norwood and new Hampshire) or Ednor to New Hampshire headed towards Colesville.

I believe you have to be 4 by Sept 1st to be in a public pre-K program. . . even private preschools now adhere more to the Sept 1 cut offs followed by MCPS.

Default B'nai Shalom of Olney Nursery School

B'nai Shalom of Olney Nursery School is a great preschool for both Jewish and non-Jewish families/kids. Small classes, warm and nurturing staff. Enrichment programs (cooking, yoga, arts, reading, music). Programs for kids ages 2-5. Early drop-off and late stay. This is NOT a daycare. This is really preschool. You won't find a better place in Olney! Check out the website www.bsons.org

My 2 kids have loved every minute!

You probably have found a school already, but we have had a great experience with the Julia Brown Montessori School on Queen Mary & Georgia Ave. Check it out -- it is not for those who want a play-based preschool, but my 2 sons thrived there. Caveat: kids have to be potty trained, and they wear uniforms.
