Hello everyone,
I'm looking for a good hair salon in Silver Spring, MD that can do a good job on African American hair.
Basically a simple no-lye relaxer, highlights at times, wash & curl, etc

Are there any good ones in the area that anyone can recommend and would you be able to provide a price list?

My roommate gets her hair done there--her stylist is named Latrae--and her hair looks good and is in good condition. She is kinda slow, though.

If you don't mind going to DC, I've heard great things about Jason Santiago at Inari Salon; three of my friends go to him and rave about his work: INARI Salon & Spa | 1425 K Street, NW | Washington DC | K Street Salon

Default Pricey but Good

Here are two salons in Silver Spring. I have been to both but stopped due to budget issues.

Welcome to Avatar!! and the second is E. Harlan Scott on Georgia Avenue.

Thanks for sharing the Inari Salon website however this salon seems to be more expensive than usual and I do not see what I am really looking for there.

Yeah, Inari is high-end, but Jason definitely does black hair. He charged $90 for a relaxer at his old salon--which I've found is pretty much the going rate at a lot of places around here--but I'm not sure what he charges now.

Carrot-

I've been to that salon, too! The only thing about it that's not high-end is the price! I've been to a few places downtown and I was struck by how nice it was without the exorbitant price tag or the 'tude that goes with nice places.

Strands hair salon is a good place. I used to go to Robin, but I don't any more because I live too far away. Strands Hair Studios
