I am a late 20s single white female who grew up in potomac near cabin john mall and currently live in a high rise apartment in between silver spring and bethesda in a SAFE family neighborhood.

I am looking to purchase a townhouse in Montgomery County and have a budget of about $175-200K.

I know ZIP codes but it seems within each zip code there are still certain neighborhoods to avoid. I want to feel safe walking to and from my townhouse and safe while inside my townhouse alone.

I know to avoid cinnamon woods, stoneridge, fox chapel in germantown but are there any other neighborhoods i should avoid?

If you could suggest places for me to live as well that would be great. Preferably quiet neighborhoods with low property theft (car and home) and virtually NO violent crime... since i will be living alone.

Thanks :-)

Clarksburg is a good idea and its virtually crime free, but it is very far from D.C. (if that matters to you).
