Clinton Christian school in Upper Marlboro. The school is really good. They select the children. You would do a interview with the principal and your child and they will send you a letter in the mail if your child were selected to attend the school. The school also offer activities such as Piano/Dance for girls/violin/karate,etc . I think the fee is around $650 a month. My son has his interview next week. He now attend Firm foundation in Temple Hills which is also a good school. Both school teach children to write before they reach 3 yrs old. My son is now 4 he can write/spell/read he can do basic math.

Wasn't there an article in the Post a couple or three weeks ago about how Clinton Christian was getting ready to close due to running out of money?

Iscalder I have a question for you: you are always talking about how great the schools are in Upper Marlboro specifically and Prince George's generally so how come you're sending your kid to private school?

Geez, the public schools have Pre-K. The question stands.

My bad. I thought pre-school was 1/2 day. But maybe that's changed now. Most people I know that did PG public schools didn't do the pre-school because they had to pay for child care anyway.

That being said -- PG schools are still sub-standard for the most part.

Which is why I questioned her. Anytime anyone asks about an area or school in PG she gets on here talking about how great the area is and how the schools are outstanding. As she's in the real estate business I think asking why she doesn't send her kids to the public schools is a legitimate question.
I ask real estate folks here in Calvert County the same question when they talk about how good the schools are to clients (and by MD standards Calvert schools are good) but send their own kids to The Calverton School.

I might add that I don't really care where anyone sends their kids to school but I'm somewhat of a "walk the walk" kind of person.

Yeah I know but you've got to consider that when a child is that young, a day-care type setting that most of the private schools offer at that age is a more convenient option.

The 4-year-old is interviewing with a private school that is different from the one he attends now. If he were to transition to a public school after only about a year or so, that would be a waste of time and money to me. I have no dog in the fight, but I'd like to hear her response too. Perhaps something has changed with her zone school.
