Hi. I was wondering what the crime rate is in Mitchellville because I am thinking about relocating. Is it better than Bowie? Thanks for your help!

I tried to find some stats for your question, but didn't have much luck. Bowie is incorporated, but Mitchellville isn't. The old apples and oranges thing. From my experience, the 2 locations seem quite comparable. They are not that far apart and are mostly middle/upper middle income residential. If I had to guess I'd say they are two of the safer places in the county. Don't usually hear of many problems there, and certainly nothing compared to most areas inside the beltway. I think Bowie is developing more commercially, but Mitchellville has more upscale housing developments going up.
