I am moving "zones" on Friday and have already updated my address with the DMV, in order to get a new license. I cannot, however, figure out how to get my parking permit changed through the online dmv services. I've tried a few times and it tells me I don't qualify (because my tags aren't expiring anytime soon).
Do I have to GO to the dmv to do this? That sounds crazy to me. How am I supposed to take care of all this on the day I am moving!! I don't need anymore parking tickets from this city.
Any help would be appreciated!!

You might have to go there, because you need proof of where you live (I think I needed a signed lease and a utility bill). In the meantime, maybe you could try getting a temporary or visitor permit?

Go to the nearest police station with proof of your new residency, they should give you a temp parking permit that will give you 15 days. If you need more time than that you are allowed one more, so that gives you a month to get to the DMV to get the new window sticker.

Parking in DC has been the bane of my existence, I just went through all this crap.
